Who chooses the award-winning videos?
Every year we have a jury composed of agents from the world of culture, human rights and cooperation as well as professionals from the audiovisual industry. Representatives of the entities that finance the contest also participate.
Once the jury is formed, we will present it on the blog of the contest website. You can see here who formed it in the last edition.
The jury decides the winning videos of the categories “Ekin eta egin”, “Euskarazko minuturik onena” (“best video in basque”) and the main category “Grand Prize – Give me 1 minute of”
The prize in the category “UN Etxea” is chosen by the professional team and by the members of UN Etxea.
Can I use other people’s images, music or videos in my work?
Your video must be original. If you use images, music, illustrations or other resources created by other people, make sure you have the necessary permissions to include them.
If there is any problem with copyright, the organisation is not responsible and the video may be withdrawn from the competition.
Can I use Artificial Intelligence tools to create my video?
Yes, you can use AI, but it is important that you clearly indicate this when submitting your work.
In the ‘Comments’ section of the registration form, tell us what tools you used and how much AI was involved in the final result.
Remember that creativity and human work will be valued more than the use of artificial intelligence, and you must always respect the copyright of any content generated or used.
How will I know if my video has been selected as a finalist?
Once the jury has made its decision, we will contact you if your video has been chosen as a finalist in any of the four categories.
In addition, we will publish the list of finalists on the blog and on the competition’s social media accounts: @dame1minutode on facebook and instagram.
When and where will the awards ceremony take place? Do I have to attend?
The awards ceremony will be held in March 2026. We will announce the date, time and how to register to attend well in advance on the competition blog and social media.
As in previous editions, the ceremony will be held at Muxikebarri Zentroa in Getxo, Spain.
During the event, all the finalist videos will be screened and the winning videos in each category will be announced.
If you wish to attend the ceremony, you are responsible for your own travel expenses. This means that each participant must arrange their own travel, accommodation (if necessary) and any other expenses related to attending the event. The organisation does not cover these costs, but we encourage you to come: it will be a special occasion to share your work, watch the finalist videos being screened and hear the jury’s decision live.
If you are unable to travel to Getxo to attend in person, the ceremony is scheduled to be streamed on UN Etxea’s YouTube channel. You can watch last year’s awards ceremony here.
